Iniesta on title win I wish it were eternal

first_imgAndres Iniesta was left struggling for words after sealing his ninth La Liga title for Barcelona on SundayThe captain had announced that he will be leaving his beloved Barcelona at the end of the season in an emotional press conference last week and was, once more, left struggling to find the right words in light of their latest La Liga triumph. An early goal from Philippe Coutinho looked to have set Ernesto Valverde’s side on their way against Deportivo La Coruna with Lionel Messi adding a second later on.However, the struggling Deportivo responded with two goals from Lucas Perez and Emre Colak levelling the score between the sides.Sergio Ramos, Real MadridZidane reveals Sergio Ramos injury concern for Real Madrid Andrew Smyth – September 14, 2019 Zinedine Zidane has put Sergio Ramos’ availability for Real Madrid’s trip to Sevilla next weekend in doubt after withdrawing him against Levante. But two late goals from Messi ensured that the Catalan side would emerge as the winners in a 4-2 thriller.“It’s an indescribable feeling, on a personal level and as a sportsperson, there are no words when you receive so much love from people and even more so in difficult moments for them [as Deportivo were relegated],” said Iniesta, as reported on Marca.“It’s an eternal thank you because it’s very beautiful. This [move] isn’t a change of opinion, but I am making the most honest decision for myself and my club.“To finish the season with these feelings before the World Cup and with another adventure ahead, I wish it were eternal. I would like this to never end, but everything has its beginning and its end.”last_img read more

At some point, MLS and, according to MLS commissioner Don Garber, the league will almost certainly roll right past it.Speaking at his annual State of the League address, Garber said via Goal:“We will grant the 28th team and make that decision sometime in the next 12 months,” he said on Friday.“There’s no rush.”“Then we’re going to have to decide if we want to go forward beyond 28 teams. That’s a discussion that is taking place. We’ll begin to introduce the subject at our board meeting in the middle of next week.Chile, Alexis SanchezAlexis Sanchez rules out move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami Andrew Smyth – September 5, 2019 Alexis Sanchez reckons he’s still got another “five or six years left” of European football in him amid links of a move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami.“I don’t expect or anticipate there will be an announcement coming out of that, but there’s no doubt in my mind that we can support having more than 28 teams in Major League Soccer, no doubt in my mind.”Garber says the league will not be expanding further into Canada, where the Montreal Impact, Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC will remain the lone representatives.“This is a big country,” Garber said.“I could remember when we first started looking at the expansion. I came in at 12, went down to 10. We went up to 14 in 2005. I don’t know that at that time we ever thought we’d be at the size we are now.”“There has been so much that’s gone on over the last decade or more in this sport, that has been empowering a lot of the interest in cities across the U.S. and Canada.”last_img read more

Iron Man Offers To Be The Voice Of Mark Zuckerbergs AI

first_img Robot Dog Astro Can Sit, Lie Down, and Save LivesMIT’s AI Knitting System Designs, Creates Woven Garments Stay on target Mark Zuckerberg announced back in May that he wants to be Tony Stark and is attempting to create an AI assistant to better run his home. It’s a personal project away from the day-to-day running of Facebook, but one that he’s passionate about completing this year. And now it could end up using the voice of Iron Man.Zuckerberg announced on Facebook that his “AI Jarvis” is in need of a voice and asked the question of who he should get to do it. A few hours later and a response came from none other than Robert Downey Jr, stating “I’ll do in a heartbeat if Bettany gets paid and donates it to a cause of Cumberbatch’s choosing…that’s the right kind of STRANGE!”The response from Zuckerberg simply said “This just got real.”AdChoices广告So, there is every chance that soon Robert Downey Jr. could be in a recording studio speaking into a microphone recording all the speech Zuckerberg requires for his AI to speak. Downey Jr. isn’t Paul Bettany, but you can’t get much closer with regards to the AI used in Iron Man. However, I think Benedict Cumberbatch’s voice may be better suited to the role.If this AI ever reaches a point where it becomes a Facebook project offered to the public, I suspect the celebrity voice would have to disappear. Licensing would be costly, and Zuckerberg would be better off finding a unique voice with no celebrity attached, much like the voice used by Siri. Of course, there’s nothing to stop any voice being recorded, so why not go further and allow voice recording to happen as part of the AI setup process? An AI controlling your home seems almost inevitable now. Smartphones already have vocal assistants, Amazon is pushing Echo hard, and the Internet of Things revolution is allowing more and more objects in the home to be interactive. A digital brain to manage them all at your command is simply the next obvious step.last_img read more

Mind over matter

first_imgThis may be his debut solo art show but 24-year-old Pallav Chander is not new to the world of arts. He has regaled many an audience with his portrayal of a woman in the play Mahim Junction, has created larger-than-life sets for his other theatrical productions and been a witness to India’s contemporary art scene as the only child to Kanchan Chander, a well-known artist of our times. It’s no wonder then, that even for his debut art show, titled Decoding A Dyslexic Mind that will be held at Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi from March 1 till March 6, 2014, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Pallav shows a remarkable confidence in the autobiographical 35-odd works which include oils on canvas, acrylic on canvas and paperworks. Transcending mediums and genres – he has created textural, semi-abstract figurative works and abstracts too.  Chander’s imagination is inspired by mainly one theme – his own life. Also Read – ‘Playing Jojo was emotionally exhausting’That he is dyslexic and a large part of his work features hands is Chander’s may not be ‘a direct message to not consider dyslexics as abnormal’, but Pallav does concede that he was the brunt of many taunts as a school-going child and Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par did ‘help me a lot’. As art curator Roobina Karode writes in the catalogue essay: ‘Decoding a dyslexic mind is about a particular mind, about Pallav Chander, a young artist who, one fine day snapped out of memories of his uncomfortable school days and grew up to do what he enjoyed the most- make art. While still in school, Pallav had experienced a certain lack of speed in comprehending and writing and these grasping difficulties instilled a certain anxiety towards social interaction and team work in the classroom. As he came to be aware of his disability, but had not yet learnt to come to terms with being dyslexic, he shied away from people, often due to peer pressure and the fear of being judged. With his mother’s constant effort and encouragement Chander was first introduced to performing arts and theatre workshops in the city, and this brought a gradual but dramatic change in his persona, as he had to be on stage and give his role the required emotion in front of an audience. His appetite for the arts was reinforced by his experiences doing theatre.’ Also Read – Leslie doing new comedy special with Netflix’Of course it was tough as a dyslexic child, and all these works are almost autobiographical. Not only do they reflect my present state of mind but also my growing up years after my parents separated.  Hands came into my work from my experiences in the UK. Each and every hand for me is like a memory, a moment from my life which I would want to remember,’ says Chander.WHERE: Visual Arts Gallery, IHC (till 6 March); Passage Art, Khan Market (7 March to 31 March)last_img read more

After legislative inaction Costa Rican President Solís IVF pledge will be put

first_imgRelated posts:Costa Rican president presents draft decree to legalize in vitro fertilization Costa Rica’s Supreme Court throws out constitutional challenges to IVF decree Costa Rica’s Solís considers reinstating IVF by executive decree Costa Rica IVF decree loses support of public health care system Costa Rica’s legislature ended its latest session Thursday without any major victories for President Luis Guillermo Solís.Nevertheless, Presidency Minister Sergio Alfaro was sanguine during a press conference with reporters despite the lack of significant movement on several controversial subjects including gay civil unions, in vitro fertilization and animal welfare reform. The legislature’s inability to address the Inter-American Court of Human Rights’ ruling ordering Costa Rica to legalize IVF has put additional pressure on Solís to make good on his threat to regulate the fertility procedure by executive decree if the Legislative Assembly fails to pass a bill.Solís has said previously that his administration has already drafted an executive order to regulate IVF in Costa Rica, 15 years after the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court banned the practice. The human rights court ordered the Costa Rican government to attend a hearing on Sept. 3 to explain the country’s lack of progress on the issue. Costa Rica has missed several deadlines to regulate the procedure since the 2012 ruling by the San José-based rights court.During a press conference Tuesday, Alfaro reiterated the Solís administration’s support for IVF legalization and gay rights protection in response to a question about a large march in downtown San José by social conservatives opposed to both:The administration will not allow any new condemnations against this country in regards to this issue [IVF]. For the country, respect for international judicial organizations is absolutely essential. For a country like Costa Rica without an army, a country that dedicates a large part of its foreign policy in international law, it’s vital to respect the ruling of international judicial bodies.Major legislative victories were largely absent from this extraordinary session, the month-long period when the executive branch sets the Assembly’s agenda, but Casa Presidencial spun it as a success. According to a statement from Casa Presidencial, 36 of its 77 bills “advanced” and five reached the plenary for debate. Facebook Commentslast_img read more
